Super 8 Filmmaking & Eco Processing — 2-Day Workshop
Step back into the world of analog filmmaking with the Creston Valley Film Society's Super 8 Filmmaking & Eco Processing Workshop.
This free, two-day hands-on workshop introduces participants to the art of shooting with Super 8 film and the fascinating process of developing black-and-white film using an environmentally conscious coffee/plant-based solution.
No previous filmmaking experience is required, and all equipment will be provided. The workshop is open to all ages, making it a great opportunity for anyone curious about traditional filmmaking, film processing, or experimenting with a completely different way of creating moving images.

Part of Social Installations: The Road Trip
Have you ever wanted to make a film but didn't know where to start?
The Creston Valley Film Society invites you to take part in our CVFS 3-Minute Film Challenge, a fun community storytelling event open to everyone—no filmmaking experience required.
Visit the CVFS booth at Social Installations: The Road Trip to receive your creative prompt, required prop, and challenge details. Then, you'll have one week to create a short film (up to 3 minutes long) and submit it online.
You can work on your own, with friends, with your family, or as part of a team. Whether you create a comedy, documentary, drama, animation, or experimental film, the goal is simple: tell a story and have fun doing it.
How It Works

Receive your prompt and required prop.

Create a film up to 3 minutes long.

Submit your film within one week.
Grand Prize
The winning film will be featured as part of The Road Trip Docuseries, giving local creators a unique opportunity to have their work included in a professional community storytelling project.
